Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], July 1 (ANI): The Samajwadi Party workers and supporters celebrated the 51st birthday of party chief and MP Akhilesh Yadav in a unique style, by planting saplings named ‘PDA’ (Pichhadha, Dalit, Alpsankhyak) and distributing sweets among poor people.
The ‘PDA’ acronym was coined by Akhilesh, which stands for a rainbow coalition of “Pichhda, Dalit and Alpsankhyak,” the group his party says works for their uplift.

SP National Secretary, Rajendra Chaudhary said on Monday, that they are planting saplings in every village and Akhilesh Yadav’s ‘PDA’ formula will get further strength.
“We will end all kinds of pollution from UP. In every village tree is being planted. The PDA formula of the SP chief Akhilesh Yadav will get further strength. We are planting saplings, distributing food for the long life of the chief,” he said.
The party leaders celebrated and danced outside the Samajwadi Party office in Lucknow. They also distributed cakes and sweets on the occasion.
51 kg of sweets, 51 kg of fruits and sarees were distributed to 101 poor women on the occasion.

A party worker said they are trying to encourage people to plant saplings and also spreading the message that former CM Akhilesh Yadav has “affection” towards the people.
“On the occasion of the birthday of the party chief we have organised Pichhadha, Dalit, Alpsankhyak (backward, Dalit and minority) ‘PDA sapling’ plantation programme for a week and encourage people to plant trees. We have tried to spread the message that our party chief has affection towards people as well as the environment. On one hand, we are distributing food to the poor and on the other hand we are planting PDA saplings,” he said.
A large number of hoarding, posters with congratulatory messages for Akhilesh Yadav were put up outside the Samajwadi Party office. The party workers also raised slogans in support of Akhilesh Yadav and wished for his long life.
Another party MP Aditya Yadav said that the [arty workers organised a poetic symposium to celebrate the SP chief’s birthday.
“We arranged a poetic symposium. We would like to extend our greetings on his birthday. We hope that in the coming time, he achieves more progress and plays an important role in giving strength to the country and constitution,” he said.

Meanwhile, SP MLA from Chitrakoot, Anil Pradhan arrived with a giant statue of former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Mulayam Singh.
“On the occasion of the birthday of the SP chief Akhilesh Yadav, we would like to extend our wishes to him. The party which was founded by his father Mulayam Singh has today become the third biggest party in the country after Lok Sabha polls. We will present his statue to Akhilesh,” he said.
The Samajwadi Party put up an impressive show in the recent Lok Sabha elections, winning 37 out of the 80 seats.
The former Chief Minister himself won the party’s stronghold seat of Kannauj, defeating BJP candidate Subrat Pathak by over 1,70,922 votes. He is also the party’s leader in the Lok Sabha.
The Samajwadi Party (SP) won 37 seats, the BJP won 33, Congress won 6, Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) won 2, and Aazad Samaj Party (Kanshi Ram) and Apna Dal (Soneylal) won 1 seat each in the Lok Sabha elections in Uttar Pradesh. (ANI)
