Bhubaneswar (Odisha) [India], October 16 (ANI): Biju Janata Dal (BJD) organised blood donation camps across Odisha’s Bhubaneswar on Wednesday on the occasion of the 79th birthday of party chief and former Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
The programme named, ‘Jiban Bindu’ (blood donation camps) was organised various parts of the state. BJD MLAs and party workers also met Patnaik and extended birthday greetings.
Speaking on occasion, BJD Vice-president Debi Prasad Mishra stated, “Naveen Patnaik is not only the president of the BJD, he is the leader of Odisha. People from within and outside the state admire him. He has contributed significantly to Odisha’s development, particularly in handling natural disasters and promoting hockey. Even the United Nations has acknowledged Odisha’s disaster management efforts.”
He further mentioned that former CM Naveen Patnaik does not like celebrating his birthday.
“He doesn’t like to celebrate his birthday. Youth and students will voluntarily donate blood. Naveen Patnaik has always supported socially committed initiatives. On this special occasion, the BJD organised ‘Jiban Bindu’ programmes at various locations, with party workers hosting the blood donation camps,” he added.
BJD MLA Pratap Dev extended birthday wishes to Patnaik and said, “Today is the birthday of former CM and LoP, BJD chief Naveen Patnaik. We all greeted him and wished him well. He advised all party leaders to be with the people and work with the people.”
“We pray to Lord Jagannath for his good health. He served Odisha as a CM for 24 years. He has done a lot of work for Odisha. He has taken our state to a new height. Naveen Patnaik is known for his simplicity and humbleness. Serving people is his first priority,” he added. (ANI)
