Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India], February 9 (ANI): Tamil Nadu BJP Spokesperson ANS Prasad has said that by defeating the Aam Aadmi Party in the Assembly election, the people of Delhi had broken free from the “shackles of misgovernance.”
“The people of Delhi have broken free from the shackles of misgovernance, rejecting the false and anarchic rule reminiscent of Muhammad bin Tughlaq, which was being emulated by Arvind Kejriwal’s administration,” Prasad said in a statement.
“Instead, they’ve opted for a government that promises good governance, inspired by the progress achieved in states with the double-engine government,” he added.
The BJP, won 48 seats to return to power in the national capital after a gap of over 26 years. The AAP won 22 seats while Congress failed to win a single seat in the 70-member Delhi Assembly.
Prasad said that the people of Delhi had spoken, and their verdict was clear.
“They choose progress over stagnation and the BJP’s vision for development and growth over the AAP’s failed promises. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s golden era of governance has ushered in a new era of hope and prosperity, promising that every citizen will have access to all necessities,” he said.
He said that the BJP’s guiding principle, “Ekatma Manav Darshan”, aimed for universal happiness and prosperity, envisioning a progressive, strong, and prosperous India that shines as a global superpower. This decisive mandate marked a historic victory for the BJP, as the people of Delhi had chosen a party that prioritizes development and progress, he said.
The BJP has vowed to implement policies and programs that reject corruption, casteism, separatism, and anti-people politics, eradicating the corrupt and autocratic governance that has hindered Delhi’s development and caused suffering to its citizens. This is a significant departure from the AAP’s Kejriwal government, which was reminiscent of the tyrannical rule of Muhammad bin Tughlaq. With this historic victory, the people of Delhi have reaffirmed their faith in the BJP’s leadership and vision for a brighter future.
The Congress party, which has consistently worked against India’s interests, has faced a crushing defeat, losing deposits in 67 seats. This verdict is a strong message from the people of Delhi, reaffirming that the Congress party needs to be ousted from India. The people of Delhi have made a wise decision, choosing a government that will usher in progress and development for the state.
“The Delhi election results mark a significant triumph for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision and Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s strategic leadership, as the people of Delhi have overwhelmingly endorsed the BJP’s agenda. This decisive mandate is a testament to the BJP’s commitment to good governance, development, and nationalism, rejecting the Congress-AAP alliance’s attempts to undermine India’s cultural heritage and national interests.”
He said that the BJP’s victory signalled a strong desire for change, with the people rejecting the Congress party’s divisive politics and the AAP’s misgovernance.
“The BJP’s victory is a significant milestone in India’s journey towards becoming a vibrant and prosperous nation. As Prime Minister Modi continues to work towards his vision of a strong and self-reliant India, the people of Delhi have reaffirmed their faith in his leadership and the BJP’s ideology,” he said.
“This election result is a celebration of India’s democratic spirit and the people’s aspirations for a brighter future, marking a significant step forward in the country’s progress,” he added.
The Congress, which was hoping for its revival in the national capital, again failed to win any seat. The party, which ruled Delhi for 15 years from 1998, registered a hat-trick zero tally in assembly polls.
AAP swept the polls in the last two assembly polls. It won 62 out of the 70 seats in 2020 and got 67 seats in 2015. The counting of votes was taken up on Saturday morning. Votes were polled on February 5. (ANI)
