Jaipur (Rajasthan) [India], February 1 (ANI): Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma has praised the Union Budget 2025, stating that it will strengthen India’s resolve to become a developed and self-reliant nation, by giving the country a clear direction to transform into a global economic power by introducing the concept of ‘Make for World’ alongside ‘Make in India.’
In a statement released by the Rajasthan government, the CM also mentioned that the various suggestions given by the state government regarding the power sector and loans to states were approved in the budget.
“The State Government had given proposals regarding extending the period of Jal Jeevan Mission, giving special assistance for power sector reform and providing an interest-free loan to the state for capital investment, which was approved by the Central Government in the budget,” the statement read.
Sharma also lauded the developmental schemes for sections of society, which in turn will also strengthen the vision of a “prosperous and strong Rajasthan.”
“This budget has given a roadmap for balanced development with a special focus on inclusive development. The middle class has been given a big relief in the budget, farmers have been given economic support and the MSME sector has also been strengthened. This budget of the people will enhance the future of the people of India and the budget will strengthen the vision of a prosperous and strong Rajasthan,” the CM said.
Meanwhile, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the Union Budget 2025 in the Lok Sabha outlining a roadmap for India’s continued economic expansion, emphasising agriculture, micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), investment, and exports.
The Finance Minister had announced that no income tax will be payable on income up to Rs 12 lakh, providing substantial relief to taxpayers, especially the middle class.
For salaried taxpayers, the limit would be Rs 12.75 lakh rupees, accounting for Rs 75,000 of the standard deduction. Sitharaman also stated that the new income tax regime will be simpler, with a special focus on benefiting the middle class.
Furthermore, Praising the budget to represent the various sections of society, the Rajasthan CM added, “The focus has been on the welfare of the poor, youth, women, farmers. Also, while working on the concept of Antyodaya, every section of the society has got representation, various provisions have been made for agriculture, employment, MSME, energy, and infrastructure as well as innovations like artificial intelligence, digital technology, skill training so that the country reaches new heights of development in all areas.
Sharma also mentioned the various provisions, including increasing the limit of Kisan Credit Card from 3 to 5 lakh, approval of 100 per cent FDI in the insurance sector, PM Dhan Dhanya Krishi Yojana, new income tax law, connecting small cities to 88 airports, increasing seats in IIT institutes, promoting medical tourism and promoting MSME and entrepreneurship which will provide employment opportunities.
