Dhal currently serves as the Chief Electoral Officer of Odisha.
The General Administration and Public Grievance Department of Odisha issued an order in this regard.
An order dated June 30 stated that Nikunja Bihari Dhal, Chief Electoral Officer, Odisha and ex-officio Additional Chief Secretary to Government, Home (Elections) Department, was appointed as Additional Chief Secretary to Chief Minister, Odisha.
Dhal will replace IAS officer Surendra Kumar as Additional Chief Secretary.
Earlier in the day, Manoj Ahuja took charge as Chief Secretary of Odisha, replacing Pradeep Kumar Jena. (ANI)
