New Delhi [India], July 10 (ANI): India’s built environment sector (construction, real estate, and infrastructure) is poised for strong growth powered by investments in specific focus areas, including housing, urban infrastructure, and various development projects. This ambitious vision of enhancing the country’s global competitiveness and improving the quality of life has opened avenues in the built environment for professionals in the architecture and engineering fields to scale up their careers.
In a conversation with ANI, officials at the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) shared how the RICS School of Built Environment has been producing industry leaders who excel in their careers, helping them cement their place as a premier institution in India.
Ashwani Awasthi, Managing Director, South Asia, RICS, says that the institution has been catering to this extensive industry demand for years now. Each year, RICS SBE graduates are equipped with the standards and guidelines of RICS, making them not only industry-ready but also highly sought-after in the eyes of employers in the sector. You can trace this demand by the growth these students see in a short span in their respective careers.
Tushar Nagare, a civil engineer who completed the MBA Construction Economics and Quantity Surveying (CEQS) programme (2015-2017) from the SBE, has seen his salary rise by over 330 per cent in the last six years. Nagare currently leverages his expertise as a cost manager at the renowned Turner & Townsend.
Another student, Divyansh Gupta, a nanotechnology engineer, transitioned into the realm of real estate after enrolling in the MBA in Real Estate and Urban Infrastructure (REUI) programme at RICS SBE and graduating in the year 2018.
Today, Gupta is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS), a qualification that is highly regarded in the industry as it signifies a high level of professional expertise and competence. A degree from RICS SBE fulfils the academic requirement for applying to the Assessment of Professional Competence (APC), the gateway to becoming an MRICS.
The unique background and comprehensive education received by Divyansh propelled him to a leadership position at Reliant Surveyors, where he is currently serving as the Director of Advisory Services. Divyansh has seen a salary surge of over 500 percent in the last five years, underscoring his expertise and skills in the field of built environment.
Karishma Chourasia’s journey from architect to manager is also exceptional. Karishma joined the MBA in Real Estate and Urban Infrastructure (REUI) programme and graduated in 2019. Her exposure to the industry’s best practices facilitated her rise to the position of Manager (APAC Advisory and Transactions) at Cushman & Wakefield, one of the leading global real estate services firms. She also saw a salary increase of over 560 per cent in the past five years.
The official said, “We are dedicated to serving the industry with the best, and RICS accreditation truly sets these professionals apart in the job market.” The RICS SBE 2024 admissions are now open, and prospective students can apply by visiting the university’s site, RICS SBE. (ANI)
